Things To Leave in 2025

As we step into a new year, it’s not just about what we’re bringing with us; it’s about what we’re finally letting go of.

Growth requires honesty. And 2025 taught many valuable lessons. Here’s what we should be leaving behind.

1. Surviving Instead of Thriving

Bare minimum living? Done. Just “getting by”? Over it.

In 2026, we’re choosing intention over survival. We’re building systems, not scrambling. Peace is the new priority.

2. Ignoring Our Finances

Avoiding bank accounts doesn’t make problems disappear; it just delays solutions.

In 2026:

  • I’m checking my numbers.

  • I’m making informed decisions.

  • I’m being honest about where my money goes.

3. Waiting Until We Feel Ready

Spoiler alert: you’re never going to feel 100% ready. Waiting for perfect timing keeps dreams stuck. Action creates confidence, not the other way around. This year, we’re moving even when we’re unsure.

4. Overcommitting and Under-Protecting Our Time

Everything doesn’t deserve access to us.

In 2026, I’m choosing:

  • Boundaries over burnout

  • Rest over resentment

  • Alignment over approval

If it drains us, it’s a NO.

5. Playing Small With Our Goals

We’re done shrinking our dreams to make them feel more “realistic.”

Big goals require bold decisions. Comfort doesn’t create growth.

2026 is about expansion mentally, financially, and personally.

6. Negative Self-Talk

The way you speak to yourself matters.

No more:

  • “I’m behind.”

  • “I should be further.”

  • “I’m not good with money.”

New year, new language.

7. Carrying What No Longer Serves Us

Old habits. Old mindsets. Old fears. If it doesn’t align with the person you’re becoming, it stays in 2025.

Lastly:

2026 is about:
Clarity
Discipline
Growth
Intentional living
